Who is responsible for your data

HiFimap (hifimap.net) is operated by Rikard Braathen, a sole trader based in Sweden. For the personal data described here, Rikard Braathen is the data controller and decides why and how it is processed.

What we collect and why

Account data — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google returns (name, email, account identifier). We use it to create and secure your account and to let you sign back in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.

System content — the component names, notes, cable details and system titles you enter, plus which systems you have published and at what link. We use it to provide the service and to display published systems publicly. Legal basis: performance of our contract.

Plan and purchase records — which plan you hold, and a record of each purchase (transaction identifier, amount, currency, status). We use this to grant the right entitlements and to keep accurate accounting records. Legal basis: performance of our contract and compliance with legal obligations. Card and billing details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us.

Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and error or request logs generated when you use the site. We use it for security, fraud prevention, debugging and improving the product. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working service.

Support and feedback messages — anything you send us by email or through the feedback form, used to answer you and improve HiFimap. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Who we share it with

Service providers that host and run HiFimap on our behalf, including our cloud hosting, database and authentication provider. They process data only on our instructions.

Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of our plans, payment processing, tax compliance, invoicing and handling refunds.

Professional advisers such as accountants, where necessary, and authorities where we are legally required to disclose data.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not run advertising on HiFimap.

International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision for the destination country.

How long we keep it

We keep account and system data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 90 days, except purchase records, which we keep for as long as accounting and tax law requires (normally seven years in Sweden). Published systems you delete are removed from public view immediately.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact us and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority — in Sweden, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, row-level access controls in our database, and restricted administrative access.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential cookies and browser storage: keeping you signed in, remembering your theme choice, and holding the system you are currently editing so it isn't lost on refresh. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Our payment provider may set cookies during checkout that are necessary to complete your purchase. You can clear this storage at any time in your browser settings, though signing in will stop working until you sign in again.
